IRVINGTON, N.Y. – Irvington's got some serious musical talent.

Students, faculty and community members came out in force Thursday evening to raise money for the upcoming Irvington High School Chorus and Orchestra trip to Italy. The “Irvington's Got Music!” benefit raised $1,600 for the trip, organizers said Friday morning.

The benefit included performances of classic songs, Broadway hits and opera favorites from several Irvington High School students and faculty. Senior Nate Long was one performer who chose to showcase his own composition, ”Insuppressible (Piano Etude No. 1),” which was inspired by the works of J.S. Bach and Beethoven.

Alumni also came back to raise money. Jessie Lambiase, a 2008 graduate, performed hits from Betty Wright and Alicia Keys with Grammy-nominated guitarist Gil Parris. 2011 graduate Kerryn Prieto performed his own song, noting he would be auditioning Friday for America's Got Talent.

All proceeds from the show will support the upcoming Italy trip. Irvington students will perform several concerts in Rome, Florence and Orvieto in February. Click through our gallery to see photos from the event.
