Money Magazine Ranks White Plains As One Of Top 50 Places To Live In US

Last month, Money Magazine revealed their list of the top 500 places to live in the US, with several local communities making the rank, including New York’s Mount Vernon, New Rochelle and Ramapo, and New Jersey’s Wayne and Clifton.  There are three, however, that made the top 50: White Plains appeared at No. 48, Parsippany at No. 16 and Clarkstown at No. 7.

“White Plains is an ideal community in which to live,” said Daniel Rand, Managing Partner of Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty.  “The housing opportunities are promising, and the downtown life offers plenty in the way of recreation, entertainment and dining.  It’s a wonderful place to raise a family, and anyone would be lucky to grow up in such an environment.”

According to neighborhoodscout.com, when you compare White Plains to other communities of similar population size, it has a crime rate that is noticeably lower than average; meaning that out of all equally sized cities in America, White Plains is safer than most, according to NeighborhoodScout’s analysis of FBI crime data.

"We are thrilled to see that, once again, White Plains has been rated among the best places to live in the US,” said White Plains Mayor Thomas M. Roach.  “White Plains offers a great mix of suburban-urban amenities, with well-established, traditional suburban neighborhoods and a vibrant downtown core.”
