Police were alerted to the shooting when they were notified by officials at St. Vincent's Hospital that a gunshot victim had arrived for treatment, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management.

Appleby said the suspect "was not cooperating at this time," with police regarding where the shooting took place or by whom.

The department did receive a ShotSpotter activation in the Trumball Avenue area, but police have not determined at this time if that was the location of the incident, Appleby said.
