Strong Storm Will Bring New Round Of Heavy Rain To Dutchess

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Dutchess will get soaked with more than one inch of rainfall as a strong storm bringing heavy rain will hit the county Monday night into Tuesday.

Low clouds and rain will cause poor visibility for motorists, according to AccuWeather.com. Those planning on traveling should anticipate slow travel and delays on the ground and in the air, including during the Tuesday morning commute.

Monday will be a mostly cloudy day with a high in the low-60s.

Rain will move into the area after 10 p.m. Monday and could be heavy at times.

Heavy rain and possibly a thunderstorm will be accompanied by patchy fog Tuesday with the high temperature in the upper-50s. 

A Flood Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for Westchester, Putnam and Rockland from 2 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday. A watch is not in effect for Dutchess at this time.

Rain will taper to showers Tuesday night before ending late in the evening.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a high in the low-60s.

Yet another storm could bring heavy rain Thursday.
