This will be Didio's second term as mayor, having already served in the position from 2008 to 2011. She told Daily Voice that being chosen for a second term in office is "validating."

"On election night somebody asked me if it was better the first time or the second time around," said Didio, a 28-year Oradell resident.

"And it actually feels much better to be elected a second time because it is a validation of the job I had done previously.

"I am looking forward to serving the people who have placed their trust in me."

Having prior experience as mayor will help her hit the ground running, Didio said.

"I think it will serve me well," she said. "I've forged many relationships which will be beneficial moving forward with some of the initiatives I would like to accomplish during my four years as mayor."

At the top of her to do list? Revitalize the downtown.

Didio said she plans on working with the borough's business development committee to meet with landowners, business owners, and community members to help strengthen the market.

"I think by working closely with both the residents of our community, the owners of the commercial properties, and the businesses that will occupy them, we can work out a relationship that will benefit everyone in terms of attracting businesses that the community needs," Didio said.

Didio also plans on continuing negotiations with health care company CareOne on preserving the historic Blauvelt Mansion (SEE: Oradell Mayor Says Town Is In Talks With CareOne To Save Historic Mansion).

"I look forward to working with the council," Didio said. "We all live in Oradell and we all have its best interests at heart."
