Cuomo originally put the investigative team together in July after the state Legislature failed to pass reform bills after a series of high profile arrests. Cuomo then reversed field and announced he would disband the commission after some of the reform he sought, including a harsher bribery statute, were included in the latest budget, The Wall Street Journal Reported.
U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, who has often made pursuing cases against legislators a priority, said he plans to have his office continue the investigations, The Wall Street Journal said.
