Tarrytown's Pierson Park Closes for Construction

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Pierson Park is closed for construction during the Pierson Park-Andre Brook rehabilitation and restoration, Tarrytown village officials announced.

The park, which is west and south of the Tarrytown Senior Center, and Andre Brook, from the outlet of West Main and Green streets, is off-limits for everyone except construction workers.

The project includes building a performance pavilion, new tennis courts and a basketball court.

Officials have also closed the pedestrian bridge between the commuter parking lot on Green Street and Pierson Park. Construction has also taken out 15 parking spaces in the commuter lot.

The Tarrytown Recreation Department and Scenic Hudson RiverWalk Park will stay open during construction, which should take about a year to complete. Residents will be able to view the Fourth of July fireworks from the RiverWalk Park, village officials said.
