Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow To Nominate Village Candidates

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – March elections are just around the corner for Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow.

Democrats in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow will nominate candidates for March elections this week.

Several nominating caucuses will take place this week as residents prepare the the annual village elections.

In Tarrytown, terms expire this spring for Mayor Drew Fixell and Trustees Thomas Butler, Douglas Zollo and Rebecca McGovern.

The Tarrytown Democratic Party will hold its nominating caucus at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at Tarrytown Village Hall.

Tarrytown Republican Party Chair Alison Boldyrev said her party would not be nominating any candidates in the upcoming elections.

In Sleepy Hollow, Village Justice Andre Valdespino, Mayor Ken Wray and Trustees Evelyn Stupel, Barbara Carr and Bruce Campbell will face re-election.

The Sleepy Hollow Democratic Party will hold its nominating caucus at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the James Galgano Senior Center.

A Republican Party caucus has not been announced.

Irvington village elections have been moved to November 2013 after a special referendum passed overwhelmingly. Terms for Mayor Brian Smith, Trustee Kenneth Bernstein and Trustee Constance Kehoe have been extended until that time.
