Yorktown Man Possessed Heroin, Had License Suspended 10 Times, Police Say

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A Yorktown man was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and possessing a quantity of heroin, following a traffic stop Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Kenneth Mitchell, 57, was pulled over in the Triangle Shopping Center after an officer observed him using his cell phone while driving, police said. 

Mitchell's driver's license was found to have been allegedly suspended 10 times on seven different dates. Mitchell was arrested and transported to headquarters where he was found to be possessing heroin and was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a Class A misdemeanor.

He was released on $200 bail and is due back in court on June 13.
