Tarrytown Police: Woman Abusing Her Mother

 

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Tarrytown Police have filed charges against a woman accused of abusing her mother.

 

Michelle A. Kemp, 57, has been charged with attempted third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation, after her mother's home health care aide told police she believed Kemp was abusing her mother, who lives in Tarrytown.

 

The aide said that on June 12 around 4 p.m. she heard what sounded like Kemp slapping her mother. The aide told police she saw the mother getting up off the floor with blood on her lips.

 

Police said the aide believes Kemp has been repeatedly abusing her mother.

 

Kemp was arraigned on June 15. Village Justice Kyle McGovern issued a temporary order of protection for the mother.

Racing: Police received reports of motorcycle racing on Route 119 around 5 p.m. on June 16.

 

Man Falls Onto Metro-North Tracks: A man who fell onto the Metro-North tracks when exiting a train around 3:30 p.m. on June 16 was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center.

 

Baseball Accident: Police said a 7-year-old girl was hit in the head with a ball bat while at Laguna Field on Sheldon Avenue around 7 p.m. on June 15. The girl was conscious when paramedics arrived and later taken to Westchester Medical Center.

 

Suspicious Taxi: A Park Avenue resident reported that her son had been walking home from Washington Irving Intermediate School around 3:15 p.m. on June 14 when he noticed a black taxi was following him. The cab turned around and left when another parent stopped the kid and asked him if the cab was following him.

 

Drunken Train Passenger: Ambulance Corps members treated a highly-intoxicated man who was removed from a Metro-North train around 6:30 p.m. on June 14. Police said the man refused further treatment and was put in a cab to go home.
