Tarrytown Firefighters Extinguish Electrical Fires

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Tarrytown firefighters extinguished three fires on Church Street, two in transformers and one in a tree.

A resident called 911 after seeing electricity jumping from one wire to another around 7:30 p.m. on July 27. When firefighters arrived, they put out a transformer fire that had spread to a tree.

Firefighters were back on the same street less than an hour later to put out another transformer fire.

Police also reported the following items:

• A McDonald's drive-thru customer called police after another customer tried to start a fight with him around 4 a.m. on July 29.

• A child was reported locked in a car on Franklin Street around 5:30 p.m. on July 28. Police responded and unlocked the car.

• A tree limb fell onto a parked car at the Striped Bass Restaurant, damaging the windshield and hood, around 11 p.m. on July 27.

• A coyote was spotted on Marymount Avenue around 8 p.m. on July 27.

• A MacArthur Lane resident reported a tree fell into her yard around noon on July 27.

• Dunkin' Donuts called police after someone found a man sleeping on the counter around noon on July 26. The man told police he was tired from a medical treatment.

• A drunken Metro-North passenger was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center around midnight on July 26.
