Tarrytown Fire Displaces Four Families

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- A Tuesday morning fire on White Street in Tarrytown displaced four families, the Red Cross said.

The fire was caused by welders doing work on the property, according to LoHud. Firefighters got the fire under control in 45 minutes and there were no injuries, according to lohud.com.

Carolyn Sherwin of the Red Cross said the four families, 10 adults and five children all have places to stay and were given personal items that were lost in the fire.

Irvington, Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Sleepy Hollow, Central Nyack, Elmsford and Ossining provided assistance.
