Tarrytown Apartment Fire Causes Slight Damage

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Tarrytown firefighters knocked down a small fire on the second floor of an apartment building on Kaldenberg Place on Monday night, Fire Chief Eugene Gasparre said.

No one was injured in the blaze, which happened before 9:30 p.m., Gasparre said. The cause of the fire and extent of the damage was still under investigation Monday night.

Frank Farina, owner of the apartment, said crews have been renovating it. Thankfully, Farina said, the damage was not significant.

"It's just a little smoke damage," he said. "Nothing that can't be remedied."

Firefighters from Ardsley, Sleepy Hollow and Ossining assisted Tarrytown firefighters and police.

Kaldenberg Place and Central Avenue were both blocked off to traffic.
