TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – New York State Police will be out in full force on the New York State Thruway during St. Patrick's Day weekend in an effort to prevent drunken driving.
Additional patrols and checkpoints will be added beginning Friday and lasting through Sunday, New York State Police Troop T and the New York State Thruway Authority said.
“Checkpoints will be set up at various locations throughout the 570-mile Thruway system,” police said in a statement.
Troop T police issued 890 tickets for DWI in 2012.
