TARRYTOWN, N.Y. New York State Police named Anna Krasnowski, 24, of New Britain, Conn. as the woman who jumped to her death Wednesday evening from the Tappan Zee Bridge.
Investigator Joseph Becerra said Krasnowski was a student. Police are still investigating why she jumped, he said.
Krasnowski stopped her car on the northbound side of the bridge around 5 p.m. Wednesday and climbed over the fence as several motorists tried to stop her from jumping.
Nyack firefighters pulled her to shore, where CPR was performed until an ambulance arrived. Krasnowski was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 5:40 p.m.
