Speeding Drunk Driver Leads To Croton High-Speed Chase, Police Say

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- A driver reaching speeds of more than 90 miles per hour took Croton-on-Hudson Police on a chase Thursday through the village before crashing into the gate of the historic Cortlandt Manor, according to Croton-on-Hudson police.

Keith Harrison, 42, of Yonkers was first spotted around 9:30 p.m. traveling northeast on Route 9 at more than 90 mph, said Police Chief Anthony Tramaglini.

When officers tried to stop Harrison, he kept going and got off the highway at Albany Post Road and continued through the village at high speeds with officers attempting to stop him, Tramaglini said.

The pursuit ended when Harrison crashed into the front gate of the Cortlandt Manor on South Riverside Drive and then continued until he hit a car owned by the manor, Tramaglini said.

The driver was quickly removed from the car by Croton-on-Hudson firefighters,.

Harrison was transported to Westchester Medical Center with unknown injuries, Tramaglini said.

He was charged with reckless driving, driving while intoxicated and speeding, the chief added.

"The investigation is ongoing and more charges may be pending," Tramaglini said.
