The DA's Office said Howson, a computer software programmer, called 9-1-1 around 3 a.m. on Jan. 5 to report that he had just strangled his wife, a part-time staff attorney for the Bronx Legal Aid Society.

Gorski remained on a ventilator for four days before she was taken off life support and died.

Howson remains in the Westchester County Jail. His next court appearance is on April 25.

Howson faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in state prison if convicted, the DA said.
