Police: Tarrytown CVS Shoplifters Take $600 In Goods

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Three women stole $600 worth of merchandise from a Tarrytown CVS, police said.

Police charged Sharhonda Glover, 26, Shideara Custis, 21, and Lawren Tucker, 20, with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor, after a CVS employee called 9-1-1 to say the women were shoplifting inside the South Broadway store around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 30.

Police said they stopped the women outside the store and later impounded their vehicle.

Glover and Custis posted $200 bail and were released. Tucker also posted $200 bail, but was turned over to Yonkers police on an arrest warrant, police said.

Tarrytown police said they also charged Glover with two additional counts of petty larceny on Jan. 2 after investigating past, unrelated thefts at the CVS on North Broadway and Walgreens.

Police also reported the following items;

  • Police charged Judith Vertetis, 51, with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, a misdemeanor, and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, after police said she refused to be interviewed  on Dec. 30 about a verbal dispute with her boyfriend. Police said she tried to push past police officers and then flailed her arms and kicked at the officers.
  • One motorist suffered a leg injury after a car went off the road on Benedict Avenue on Dec. 29 around 1 p.m.
  • An Asbury Terrace resident reported on Dec. 28 that a former friend had threatened on Facebook to shoot him.
