Ossining Manhunt Suspect Remains On Run After Crashing Stolen Car

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A suspect is still at large following a high-speed police chase that led to a manhunt in Northern Westchester on Thursday.

On Thursday morning, police attempted to make a routine traffic stop in Ossining, when the suspect sped away before crashing on Pinesbridge Road and fleeing into the woods on foot, prompting an extensive manhunt that included New York State and Yorktown police, aerial and K-9 units.

According to New York State Police Public Information Officer Melissa McMorris, as of Friday, a suspect has not yet been identified and the incident remains under investigation. During their initial investigation, they discovered that the vehicle the suspect crashed was stolen.

The police have not released a description of the suspect, though he is not believed to be a danger to the community.
