Motorist Gets Stuck On Tarrytown School's Ball Field

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A 22-year-old man was arrested by Tarrytown police after he drove onto a ball field at the EF School and got stuck, police said.

Andrew Munoz was charged with trespass, a violation; third-degree criminal mischief, a felony; and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a violent felony, police said.

School security officers reported March 12 that Munoz had driven onto and damaged the field at about 5:30 p.m., police said.

Tarrytown police arrested Munoz and towed the car. An unidentified passenger was released after police determined Munoz acted alone.

Munoz was arraigned on $500 cash bail.

Police also reported the following items:

  • A 52-year-old man was charged with third-degree bail jumping, a misdemeanor, on March 13. The man was arraigned on $10,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond.
  • A pedestrian was taken to Westchester Medical Center after being struck by a car on Route 9 at the I-87 intersection on March 13.
  • Firefighters reported a small fire in the electric heating unit in a wall of the On Track Sport Center on March 12.
  • Police received a complaint that a motorcyclist was driving up and down Main Street at about 12:30 a.m. March 12, revving the bike's engine and making noise.
  • A Lake Terrance resident reported March 11 that several Belgium blocks at the end of her driveway had been loosened and damaged, possibly by a truck involved with construction in the neighborhood.
  • AT&T's district manager reported March 11 that an employee had stolen several cellphones and SIM cards from the Tarrytown store.
