Motorist Damages Telephone Pole, Bus Sign In Tarrytown

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A motorist struck a telephone pole and damaged a bus stop sign after sliding on icy roads, Tarrytown police said.

The motorist was traveling on South Broadway when the car slid out of control around 2:30 a.m. on March 17.

The driver reported his knee was in pain and was later taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital.

Police contacted Con Edison about the pole and MTA Transit for the bus sign.

Police also reported the following items:

  • An irate customer threatened the pharmacist at Walgreens on March 16 after the store denied his prescribed medication.
  • A Martling Avenue resident reported on March 16 that someone had glued the lock on her mailbox.
  • Tarrytown police arrested a 24-year-old man for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, on March 15 after a Benedict Avenue traffic stop.
  • Tarrytown police arrested three people for second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, on March 14: Robert Estevez, 28, Kostantino Ntelekos, 29, and Rudy Rosario, 25. The men were arraigned, given no bail and taken to the Westchester County Jail.
  • A Loh Avenue resident reported on March 14 his wife had written a $4,000 check to a contractor as a down payment for a new gas boiler, but they have been unable to contact the man since.
