Manhunt Is Under Way For Suspect In Port Chester Bank Robbery

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Authorities are searching for a suspect wanted in connection to a bank robbery at Chase Bank at 122 N. Main St., Port Chester, Monday around 9:15 a.m., according to Port Chester Police.

Police described the suspect as a black male standing approximately 6-feet tall wearing a cap, mask, tan jacket and light-colored pants. He is 25 to 35 years old.

Police stopped a Metro-North train in Rye that was headed toward Grand Central Terminal, but did not find the suspect.

According to bank staff, the pictured subject entered the bank and passed a note to a teller announcing a robbery. The subject fled the bank on foot with approximately $1,700 in U.S. currency.

Responding officers, with assistance from the MTA Police and the City of Rye Police were still searching the area about 11 a.m.

The Port Chester Police Department is actively seeking the public's assistance, and requests anyone who has information to contact the Detective Bureau at 914-939-1000.
