Clydedoro Graham, 28, was convicted in November 2015 of kidnapping, conspiring to engage in sex trafficking and attempting to engage in sex trafficking. He was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Nelson S. Román, said U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara in a statement.
Bharara said that Graham, who was first arrested in connection with the case in June 2014 and charged in December of that year, conspired with three others – his then girlfriend Alisa Papp, his cousin Kevin Graham and his friend Hector Garcia – to trick the 19-year-old into his apartment on June 16, 2014.
Bharara described Clydedoro Graham as “the leader” of the group and said that it was he who selected the victim from an advertisement on backpage.com, a website frequented by prostitutes and others offering their services.
Kevin Graham then made the call, according to Bharara, who said that once the woman was inside the apartment, the men had forcible sex with her with Clydedoro Graham keeping her captive for about two days.
Over the course of the two-day period, the victim’s belongings were taken from her, she was forced to have sex against her will, and she was held in the apartment after Clydedoro Graham removed the interior doorknob to the main apartment entrance, according to Bharara.
Bharara said that Clydedoro Graham was additionally sentenced to three years of supervised released.
Papp, Kevin Graham and Garcia all pleaded guilty to similar charges, Bharara said. Information on their sentences was unavailable Thursday night.
