Good Samaritans Save Woman From Tappan Zee Bridge Jump

A pair of good Samaritans offered a helping hand to a woman in need on Monday, after she threatened to jump off the Tappan Zee Bridge.

Shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon, an unidentified female,  whose hometown will not be released, climbed over the barrier of the bridge, and proceeded to make threats about jumping when a passerby joined her on the ledge and held on for assistance until a second party and state trooper could take her into custody.

The woman was transported to the Westchester Medical Center for a mental health evaluation, and the entire incident was concluded with the roadway reopened within 10 minutes, according to New York State Police.
