WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Amanda Iles, a former teacher at Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, pleaded guilty Tuesday to raping a 14 year-old-boy, a former student, according to the District Attorney's office.

The former Eastchester resident will be sentenced on May 27.

According to the district attorney's office, she will be facing six months in prison, followed by 10-years of sex offender probation. Iles must register as a sex offender.

According to New York State law, Iles’ assigned sex-offender classification will determine if she will be listed in a public state directory.

Iles engaged in sexual encounters with the boy in Eastchester between June 11 and July 14, 2013, the DA said.

The inappropriate relationship between Amanda Iles and the 14-year-old student happened after Iles resigned her position, according to a statement from Archbishop Stepinac High School.

She reportedly knew the boy was a student at the school, said officials. When the boy's parents became aware of the encounters, they contacted Yonkers police.

They didn't report that she only got 6 months for 10 sexual encounters. WC has a generous DA.

And she was released from county jail today after only serving 4 months. What kind of message does that send to other offenders?

Lisa'Love'. The irony of your name is not lost on me. You are sadly misguided and ignorant. By your own words, you refer to the student as 'a boy'. THAT is precisely the issue. He cannot be a knowingly willing participant - he is too young to fully understand his actions and the heinous manipulation by the adult perpetrator. ยง 130.05 Sex offenses; lack of consent. 3. A person is deemed incapable of consent when he or she is:
(a) less than seventeen years old; or (here the law details other conditions like mental disabilities, etc). You should also further educate yourself on what defines assault....with your attitude, it may keep others safer and you out of jail.

She can rape me anytime...

while i certainly agree that sexual "encounters" between an adult and a minor of either sex is reprehensible-i am still puzzled by the use of the word "rape" how does a female rape a male??

Richard, you framed things appropriately by noting the reprehensible nature of the 'encounter'. Under the law, rape can be penetrable, non penetrable, the offender can be abusing authority, the act can be coerced, the victim is a minor and therefore incapable of making this choice (statutory), and so on. This young man had his innocence stolen by a knowing adult who, at one juncture, had a fiduciary relationship with him, as a teacher. We do not know the details, and for the sake of this young man, hopefully much of that will be remain shielded. In any event, however it is detailed or defined, it was a sexual assault and abuse of power and trust

If we don't know the details, how can you be so sure it was a sexual assault? Reads to me like the boy was a willing participant.

Innocence stolen from yet another child. This woman is a self involved monster

Innocence was not "stolen". The boy was apparently a very willing participant.

He was 14!!
