TARRYTOWN, N.Y. A motorist involved in an early morning car accident had a blood alcohol content of more than .18 and had to be hospitalized for intoxication, Tarrytown police said.
Edgar Lucero, 24, has been charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
Police say Lucero was involved in a two-car accident on McKeel Avenue around 1:30 a.m. on June 22.
Police found a 12-pack of Corona beer that was partially consumed in the floor of the front passenger's seat when investigating the accident and later impounded Lucero's car.
Lucero was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center because of his high level of intoxication, according to police.
Lucero was released from the hospital around 7 a.m. the same day and released on $250 cash bail.

Car-Bicycle Accident: A car and a bicyclist got into an accident on North Broadway around noon on June 24. The bicyclist complained of back pain and was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center.
Craigslist Scam: A Putnam Avenue resident told police on June 23 he was trying to sell something on Craigslist and was receiving checks in the mail. Police told the man the checks were part of a scam.
Deer: A vehicle struck and killed a deer on Grove Street around 10:30 a.m. on June 23.
Stuck Elevator: Firefighters were dispatched to a White Plains Road building when someone was stuck in the elevator around 6 p.m. on June 22.
Criminal Mischief: A woman reported someone had walked on her car's hood and roof to smash the windshield around 1 p.m. on June 22.
Criminal Mischief: A man reported his car's windshield had been damaged while it was parked overnight on Riverview Avenue on June 22.
Car Forced Off Road: A motorist called police after her car was forced off the road by another car on Cobb Lane around 1 p.m. on June 22. The woman's car was heavily damaged on its front end and had to be towed.
Car Fires: Firefighters responded to car fires on the Tappan Zee Bridge around 2:30 p.m. on June 21 and 5:30 p.m. on June 22.
