Dog Bites Tarrytown Child On Storm Street

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A 2-year-old dog bit a child on Storm Street, Tarrytown police said.

The child's mother called police to report that the dog, a black and tan mini pincher, had bit her son's right calf around 8 p.m. on June 30.

Police helped the mother locate the dog's owner and found the animal had appropriate paperwork. The mother refused medical treatment for her son, saying they would follow up on their own.

Police filed an animal bite report with the Westchester Department of Health.

Police also reported the following items:

Graffiti: Someone spray-painted “Ultra Violence” on some temporary cement blocks on a Linden Place property on June 29.

DWI: Police charged Patricia Dukes, 48, with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, as she was trying to leave the Tarrytown YMCA around 7 p.m. on June 29. Dukes was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center and then released to a responsible person.

Graffiti: Someone spray-painted a blue van with the words “Don't Fear The Dark” sometime around June 29 in the parking lot at 1 River Plaza.

Fire: A fire was reported at a home on North Washington Street around 8 a.m. on June 29 and was extinguished by the time firefighters arrived.

Coyote Sightings: A coyote was spotted near the Crest Pool around 8 a.m. on June 29. Another coyote was spotted killing a baby deer on Birch Way around 9 p.m. on June 30.

False Alarm: Police charged a 17-year-old boy with second-degree falsely reporting an incident, a violent felony, after a fire alarm went off at Ursula Hall at the EF School around 4 a.m. on June 29. The teen was arraigned and released on $500 bail.

Bicyclist Accident: A bicyclist and a car were involved in an accident on White Plains Road around 11:45 p.m. on June 28. The bicyclist was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center.

Damaged Car: A Martling Avenue resident reported his car was damaged overnight on June 28. Officers reported a large scratch on the passenger's side door.
