Cortlandt Man Caught After Stealing Vehicle From Dealership, Police Say

A 40-year-old Cortlandt man is facing charges after state police say he stole a vehicle from a dealership in Ulster County.

The vehicle was located at Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor, state police said.

The vehicle was located at Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor on March 15 which was determined to have been stolen from the dealership.

With the assistance of the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from Kingston, numerous interviews were conducted which lead to Daniel Acevedo being identified and subsequently arrested.

Acevedo has been charged with criminal possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony.

Acevedo was arraigned by Honorable Daniel McCarty at Town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. His next court appearance was scheduled for Thursday, April 27.
