Couple Hit, Killed By MBTA Train; Man Was Trying To Pull Girlfriend From Track: DA A couple was killed on Monday, May 13, after they were struck by an MBTA commuter train after the woman got stuck on the track, and her boyfriend was trying to pull her to safety, authorities said.  The 65-year-old woman and 59-year-old man were hit in the area of Washington Avenue between Cochituate Street and Middlesex Avenue, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said on Tuesday. Man Found Shot Dead In Springfield ID'd As 49-Year-Old A 49-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a shooting on Friday, May 10, in Springfield, authorities announced.  Gustavo Cartagena, of Springfield, was found shot in the 60 block of Locust Street just after 1:35 a.m. after police were called to the area for reports of gunshots, Springfield police said.  Cartagena was dead when officers arrived.  Police are investigating the slaying.  Officers ask anyone with information about the slaying to contact Springfield detectives at 413-787-6355.

$1M Lottery Jackpot: Mass Man Turns In Winning Ticket Bought In Foxborough A trust has claimed the $1 million prize purchased last week at a Foxborough gas station.  The Regional Magnet Nominee Trust of West Bridgewater collected the check from the "100X Cash" $10 scratch-off ticket.  The winner's name was not released, but Scott Bradley, a trustee, picked up the check.  The ticket was purchased at Mobil gas station at 123 Central St. in Foxborough. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale.
