William M. Mathieson, 80, Korea Vet And Lifelong Resident Of Tarrytown

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. - William M. Mathieson, a lifelong resident of Tarrytown, died March 9. He was 80.

Mathieson was born in Tarrytown on Jan. 2, 1933, son of William A. and Margaret Myers Mathieson.

He served in the United States Army Air Force during the Korean conflict. He worked for General Motors for 37 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion Spencer Kelly Post, the Tarrytown Seniors and he was past master of the Masons Solomon Lodge.

Mathieson is survived by his wife, Lucille; brother, Dennis (Sheryl) of Lords Valley, Pa. and sister, Patricia Furphy of Scotia, N.Y.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother John.

Calling hours are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Irvington Presbyterian Church with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
