Tenby Storm, 93, Longtime Tarrytown Resident

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. - Tenby Storm, a longtime resident of Tarrytown, died April 15. She was 93.

Storm was born April 27, 1920, in Chicago, Ill., to William C. and Esther Settergren Larson. She was a 1941 graduate of the University of Michigan, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. She also was a graduate of the Katharine Gibbs School for Secretaries in New York City. During World War II, she lived in New York City at International House and worked for the Berlitz Schools of Languages and Export Associates Development Company. She was a tenant advocate with the Tarrytown Tenants Association for over 30 years.

She was active with various USO clubs helping to entertain troops. Her work life spanned over 60 years. Early on she was a founding member of Loyham Tractor Corporation in Detroit, Mich. Then was an editor of educational material with the Jam Handy Organization, Detroit; Scott Education, Holyoke, Mass.; and Prentice Hall Media, Tarrytown. She was an editor of credentialing materials for Professional Examination Service in New York City.

Storm was predeceased by her husband, Donald Storm.

There will be no funeral service. Interment will be in Washington Park Mausoleum in Washington Park Cemetery East, Indianapolis, Indiana.
