Tarrytown's Vic Weinstein, 75, Greenburgh Planning Board Member

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Tarrytown resident Vic Weinstein, 75, a member of the Town of Greenburgh Planning Board, died on Thursday, Dec. 5.

Weinstein was a member of the congregation of Temple Beth Abraham, a reform and conservative synagogue in Tarrytown, and the chairman of its House Committee.

"Vic was a special person - smart, upbeat, community minded, constructive," said Paul Feiner, Town Supervisor for Greenburgh. "He volunteered his time helping others. He served on our citizens budget commission and volunteered his time with SCORE, an organization that helps small businesses by giving them good advice."

Feiner said Weinstein never sought recognition or thanks for his community work.

"He was an exceptionally nice person," Feiner said. "Vic will be missed by everyone who knew him. He will never be forgotten. His contributions to our town were enormous -- an unsung hero."

Weinstein was the secretary of the Wyldwood Home Owners Association board. Wyldwood is an 86-unit, 12-year-old condominium complex in Tarrytown. Weinstein graduated from Boston University and was Real Estate Program Manager at IBM before retiring about 10 years ago. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 1:30 p.m. at Temple Beth Abraham, 25 Leroy Avenue, Tarrytown.
