Serafina Randazzo Of Tarrytown

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Serafina Randazzo died Tuesday, Feb. 17.

She was born and raised in the Bronx and moved to Tarrytown in 1962. She was the daughter of the late Antoinette and Calogero Corpora. She was a member of Transfiguration Church and was on the parish council and PTA. She had been a member of various committees, including Girl Scouts, Sleepy Hollow PTA, Neighborhood House board and was a Phelps Memorial Hospital Center volunteer. She was also one of the original founding members of the Columbiettes of St. Elmo Council of Tarrytown. In 1976, she was appointed director of the senior citizen nutrition program at the Knights of Columbus.

Randazzo’s first job in Tarrytown was for Sleepy Hollow High School BOCES. She then became a real estate agent and worked for Nagel and Beck and Wheatley Realtors. She then became a travel agent working for Tarry Travel, Miles Unlimited and ATC. She often said that one of the best times of her life was traveling the world on Pan Am. She was a member of the Neighborhood House, Transfiguration Seniors and Tarrytown Seniors, for which she was the social director. For many years, she planned the Tarrytown Seniors' Spring Fling and the holiday party at Tappan Hill. Later in life, she took up painting at the Neighborhood House and was an amateur landscape artist. Her paintings, along with all of her classmates’ paintings, were displayed at the Warner Library each year. She was chosen as an aide in the 2012 Tarrytown St. Patrick's Day Parade.

She had two brothers, Anthony and Joseph Corpora, and one sister, Ana Marie Corpora. She is survived by her children, Marian; Joseph and daughter- in-law Annie; Joni and son-in-law David; David and daughter-in-law Lillian; five grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great nephews.

The family will receive visitors Friday, Feb. 20, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Dwyer & Vanderbilt Funeral Home, 90 N. Broadway, Tarrytown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. at Transfiguration Church, Tarrytown. Interment will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
