TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Ruth Mauterstock, a former Tarrytown resident, died on November 30, 2014 at Harbor Point, an assisted living residence in Centerville, Mass.
She was born on July 17, 1920 in Tarrytown, to Louisa and Joseph Carpenter. Mauterstock was married to Robert B. Mauterstock Sr. for 55 years, They moved from Tarrytown to Longmeadow, Mass., in 1960 where they lived for more than 40 years. Mauterstock devoted her life to her husband, who died in 1997.
Mauterstock is survived by her son Robert, Jr. his wife Mary and their daughter, Stephanie.
She is survived by a brother, Guy,of Baltimore, Md
Mauterstock was predeceased by two brothers, Joe and John. .
Mauterstock will be buried next to her husband in Walton, NY. A Celebration of Her Life is planned for the spring on Cape Cod. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Broad Reach Hospice, 390 Orleans Road, North Chatham, Mass., 02650.
