Rocco A. Martello, 66, Longtime Sleepy Hollow Resident

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- Rocco A. Martello, a longtime Sleepy Hollow resident, died on Saturday, April 2. He was 66.

Born in White Plains, Martello graduated from St. Teresa's School, Stepinac High School and Westchester Community College. He had a long career with the United States Postal Service and retired as a supervisor in White Plains.

He was a member of the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department. He was a member of Union Hose Company No. 2, where he had been captain and served as president for many years. He was also a member of the Westchester County Volunteer Fireman's Association.

Martello is survived by his children, Joseph, Maria and Angela all of Sleepy Hollow, and his brother Sal of Stamford, Connecticut. He was predeceased by his wife, Diane; parents Angelo and Maria Richichi Martello; and brother Angelo.

Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, at Coffey Funeral Home, 91 North Broadway, in Tarrytown. A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Teresa of Avila Church, followed by interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
