Regina Nelson McCormack, 85, Eastern Airlines Employee In Tarrytown

POCANTICO HILLS, N.Y. - Regina Nelson McCormack, a 43-year resident of Pocantico Hills, died Friday, Oct. 25. She was 85.

McCormack was born Dec. 7, 1927, in North Tarrytown, to Ernst and Helen (Slavin) Nelson, she graduated from North Tarrytown High School in 1945 and was then employed by Eastern Airlines. She became a licensed real estate agent and worked for the Joseph A. Scova Agency in Hawthorne, and Ye Village Realty in Dobbs Ferry. In 1973 she joined the Rockefeller Family Community Relations Of?ce in Pocantico Hills and worked as the assistant to the Personal Representative of the Rockefeller family in Westchester County

. In 1980 she was hired as assistant to the President of the First National Bank of North Tarrytown. From 1981 to 1983 she served as assistant deputy county clerk in the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles of?ce in Peekskill, N.Y. From 1983 until her retirement in 1991, she was the Passenger Service Specialist for the Westchester County Department of Transportation. She was also active in community affairs. She was the alternate district leader for District 9 in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, president of The Women’s Club of Pocantico Hills, as well as chair of the Spiritual Development Committee of The Church of the Magdalene in Pocantico Hills.

McCormack is survived by her husband, Arthur; children, Sean (Dr. Marina) of Ann Arbor, Mich.; Kevin (Mary Anne) of Bedford, Kerry (Paul Gossiaux) of Burford, UK, Maureen Kessler of Cornwall, Arthur Jr. (Gina) of Ramsey, N.J.; and seven grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28 at The Church of the Magdalene, 525 Bedford Road, Pocantico Hills, NY 10591, interment to follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, 540 N. Broadway, Sleepy Hollow.
