TARRYTOWN, N.Y. Pauline R. Lagana, a longtime Tarrytown resident, died June 28. She was 95.
Lagana was born Nov. 9, 1916, in Carbondale, Pa., to Clement and Mary Fellis Sinibaldi. She worked as a registered nurse at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains for many years. She was married to Demetrio Lagana, who predeceased her in 1953.
A parishioner of Transfiguration Church, Lagana was a member of the Transfiguration Seniors, Transfiguration Women's Club and the Ladies of Charity. She also volunteered for many local organizations.
Lagana is survived by a daughter, Marietta Settembrino, of Yorktown Heights; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, John "Jack" Lagana, in 2011; two brothers, Ralph and Remo Sinibaldi; and a sister, Violet Nienberg.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at Transfiguration Church, with burial at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Coffey Funeral Home in Tarrytown was in charge of arrangements.
