Mercedes Hernandez, 89, Of Tarrytown, Worked For Mallory Battery

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. - Mercedes Hernandez, a longtime Tarrytown resident, died Dec. 8. She was 89.

Hernandez was born July 16, 1924, in Cuba; daughter of Eduardo and Maria Flores Hernandez. She worked for many years at Mallory Battery in North Tarrytown.

Hernandez is survived by her brothers, Ricardo of New Jersey and Santiago of Florida; sisters, Emma Doherty of Tarrytown, Teresita Gomez of Florida, Andrea Perez of Venezuela and Maria del Carmen Salinas of Cuba; many nieces, nephews; and grandnieces, grandnephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Mario, Jorge, Edmundo and Heberto; and sister, Marina Hernandez.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11 at Coffey Funeral Home followed by interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
