Martin Kavicky, 90, Sleepy Hollow Resident

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Martin Kavicky, of Sleepy Hollow, died Monday, Feb. 8. He was 90.

He was born Nov. 22, 1925, in North Tarrytown (now Sleepy Hollow) to Samuel and Mary Margetjak Kavicky. After graduation from North Tarrytown High School, he served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. After the war, he went to work for Westchester Medical Center in the maintenance department until he retired.

He is survived by his niece Judie (David) Doyle of Croton, nephew Thomas (Susan) Mezger of Wappingers Falls, great-nieces and great-nephew Stephanie, Cory and Katrina and his great great-nieces and nephew Samantha, Jayden and Gisella.

He was predeceased by his sister, Katherine Mezger and brother, Samuel Kavicky.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home, where services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
