TARRYTOWN, N.Y. Mark M. Cember of Tarrytown, died July 12. He was 56.
He was born April 14, 1956, to Nathan and Esther Cember. He graduated from Nyack High School in 1974, where he played varsity football and ran track and field. Cember attended Curry College in Milton, Mass., and served as sports director of its radio station, WMLN.
After college, he worked at WGRC radio station in Rockland County and WARE in Ware, Mass., where he broadcast high school sports. For many years, he participated in local sports activities, particularly at the Nyack YMCA. He loved sports, old movies, TV shows, slapstick comedy and Elvis Presley.
He was a former resident of Valley Cottage, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife, Denise; his parents; a son, Aaron; a daughter, Ariana; two brothers, Richard and William; a nephew and two nieces.
He was predeceased by a son, Joshua.
Hellman Memorial Chapels in Valley Stream, N.Y., is handling arrangements. Memorial donations in Mark's name can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
