TARRYTOWN, N.Y. - Marion F. Gallagher, a longtime Tarrytown resident, died Dec. 15. She was 83.
Gallagher was born Nov. 14, 1931, to Joseph and Nellie Gay Smith in East Irvington. She was a 1950 graduate of North Tarrytown High School. She worked for many years as a secretary for Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow. In addition, she volunteered at Phelps Hospital and was a member of the Tarrytown Seniors.
Gallagher is survived by her children, Edward F. Gallagher of Sterling, Va., and Gay A. Maya (Robert) Lisanti of Peekskill; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sister, Josephine Smith of Canaan. She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Dennis Cohen.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Dec. 17 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home in Tarrytown. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, Dec. 18 at the funeral home at a time to be announced. Burial follows at Sharon Gardens.
