Marion Brown, 86, Lifelong Tarrytown Resident

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Marion W. Brown, a lifelong Tarrytown resident, died Jan. 2. She was 86.

Brown was born Aug. 26, 1926, in Tarrytown to John Walsh and Muriel Furlong. She graduated from Washington Irving High School and worked at Family Services of Westchester. She also volunteered at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow.

Her husband, Wallace "Roy" L. Brown, died on Jan. 23, 2006.

Brown is survived by two sons, Scott W. Brown (Cathleen) of Tarrytown and Christopher J. Brown (Nadia) of Cortlandt Manor and four grandchildren Megan Praino (Joseph), Kelly, Carolyn and Eric Brown.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara W. Hill and Joan M. Walsh.

Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, at Dwyer and Vanderbilt Funeral Home in Tarrytown. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a favorite charity.
