Maria Napolitano Tumino, 83, Former Longtime Tarrytown Resident

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - Maria Napolitano Tumino, a longtime resident of Tarrytown and recent resident of Pompano Beach, died Thursday, May 23. She was 83.

Tumino was born March 30, 1931, to Giovanni and Maria Cilia Occhipinti in Ragusa, Sicily. She came to America in 1961 and worked many years at General Motors and retired in 1976. She was a member of Local 664.

Tumino is survived by her husband, Mario Tumino; son, Giorgio Napolitano (Nancy); three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, Gino Occhipinti (Rose) and John Occhipinti (Mary); nephews; her husband, Mario's children, Salvatore Tumino and Maria Smith; and their children. She was predeceased by her sister, Raffaela Farruggio.

Calling hours are Wednesday, May 29 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home, Tarrytown. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30 at Immaculate Conception Church. The burial will be at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
