Marco A. Broadway, 48, Sleepy Hollow Firefighter, Metro-North Conductor

Marco Allen Broadway, a Brewster resident and Sleepy Hollow native, died on June 20 at Columbia-Presbyterian-Hospital in New York City after a long illness. He was 48.

Marco was born May 22, 1969 at Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow to Joseph and Theresa (Kunert) Broadway. He graduated from Sleepy Hollow High School and later, Westchester Community College. 

Marco was a member of the Sleepy Hollow Fire Company, Sokol Club, Eagles, and Tarrytown Boat Club.

Marco married Jennifer Parkis in Tarrytown on July 3, 1998. They later moved to Brewster, settling there and raising their two children; Kyle, 6, and Mackenzie, 4.

Marc worked for the Metro-North Railroad as a conductor for 19 years. He was also a member of the St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster.

He is survived by his wife, children, a brother John of Hopewell Junction and his parents; father Joseph of Fresno, CA and mother Theresa of Brewster.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 26, at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster, followed by burial at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery also in Brewster. The family will receive visitors on Sunday June 25, between the hours of 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Beecher Funeral Home 1 Putnam Ave. Brewster.
