Joaquim Vieira, 78, Lifelong Tarrytowns Resident, Was Publisher’s Rep

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Joaquim “Jack” Vieira, a life long resident of the Tarrytowns, died March 23. He was 78.

Vieira was born April 18, 1934, to Maria Neves and Francisco Vieira in North Tarrytown. A graduate of Washington Irving High School, he studied Industrial and Labor relations at NYU and graduated 1954.

He served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne division and U.S. Army Reserves. He was honorably discharged in 1962.

Professionally he was a publishers’ representative and was chief executive officer/ founder of American Business Communications.

Vieira is survived by children, David (Petra) Vieira of Chatsworth Calif. and Jessica (Matthew Roden) Vieira of Pelham N.Y.; brother, Elisio(Virginia Gommi) Vieira; sister-in-law, Theresa Vieira five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Julia; brother, Frank and sister, Maria.

There will be no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday March 27 at 10 a.m. at Transfiguration Church with interment to follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. For more information, visit:
