IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Jessie DiChiara, a lifelong resident of Irvington, died on Sunday. She was 93.
Born and raised in Irvington, she was the daughter of James and Jessie McMurtrie. DiChiara married Leonard on May 6, 1944.
She worked as a secretary for a liquor company in New York City before becoming a full time mother.
DiChiara is survived by her four sons Leonard, Jr. (Sue), Peter (Liz), James (Marcia) and Norman (Judy), eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Sarah Paul. DiChiara was predeceased by her husband Leonard in 2003.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 30 at 10 a.m. at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home.
The family requests memorial contributions to be made to the Irvington Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
