Gertrude Guisti, 90, Of Tarrytown

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Gertrude Guisti, a lifelong resident of Tarrytown, died Monday, April 18, at the age of 90. 

Born in North Tarrytown on Dec. 15, 1925, she was the daughter of Natale and Filomena Valerino Galassi. Many people may remember her from the hot dog wagon she operated on Valley Street across from the former Frank's Chevrolet. She had been a member of the Tarrytown Seniors, the Senior Nutrition Program and the Transfiguration Seniors. 

She loved bingo, playing poker and trips to Atlantic City. 

She is survived by her daughter Anna Whited of Largo, Fla.; her grandchildren, Bruce Whited of Tarrytown and Donna Naples of Seminole, Fla.; her great-grandchildren, Michael, Brittany and Caitlyn Whited; and her great-great-grandson, Graham Whited. 

She was predeceased by her son, Michael; four brothers; and three sisters. 

Visitation will be Saturday, April 23, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at Coffey Funeral Home with services at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
