IRVINGTON, N.Y. – Dorothy C. (nee Cronin) Harmonay, a longtime resident of Irvington, died at Westchester Medical Center on Monday, May 18, after a brief illness. She was 90.
Harmonay was born in Yonkers to Alice and Vincent Cronin. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and worked as a secretary at The Conference Board.
She was predeceased by her husband, S. Leo Harmonay, and a daughter, Janice Harmonay.
Harmonay is survived by her son, S. Leo Harmonay, Jr., of Peekskill, her daughters Barbara Harmonay Armiento of Acton, Mass. and Maureen Harmonay of Sterling, Mass., her son-in-law, Craig Armiento, her brother Vincent Cronin of Hartwick, her sister Alicia Talvi of Buffalo, her grandchildren Bryan Armiento of Charlotte, N.C., Kaitlyn Armiento of Medford, Mass., Stephen L. Harmonay III of Orlando, and Delaney Harmonay of Orlando.
Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m., on Thursday at the Dwyer & Vanderbilt Funeral Home in Tarrytown.
A funeral Mass will be on Friday at Immaculate Conception Church in Irvington at 9:45 a.m., followed by interment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent in Harmonay's memory to Immaculate Conception Church, 16 North Broadway, Irvington, NY 10533.
