Brian James Balthazard, 26, Tarrytown Resident

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Brian James Balthazard, a lifelong resident of Tarrytown died unexpectedly on Aug. 16 at the age of 26.

Born in North Tarrytown on March 15, 1989, he was the son of Brian and Geralyn Balthazard. Brian graduated from Transfiguration School and Stepinac High School. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Pace University. He was employed at Ernst and Young in New York City as an Accountant.

Brian was an avid sports fan and especially loved cheering for the Yankees, Giants, Knicks, and Rangers. He had been a pitcher on the Stepinac baseball team and in recent years enjoyed being involved in recreation basketball leagues. He was also a fantastic cook who loved preparing meals for family and friends.

He is survived by his loving parents Brian and Geralyn; his sisters Kate (AJ) Garcia of Bronxville, Julie (Joseph) Fiore of Tarrytown and Laura Balthazard of Tarrytown. He is also survived by his niece and goddaughter Riley Fiore and his nephew Luke Fiore as well as his grandparents Lucy and Patrick DiMuro of Tarrytown and Jean and Joseph Balthazard of Tarrytown. Brian also leaves behind his godmother and great-aunt Lucy DiMuro as well as his aunt and uncle Karen and Tony Borrello and their children Emily and Anthony Borrello and his aunt and uncle Mark and Eileen Balthazard and their children Christopher and Sam Balthazard. Brian is predeceased by his great grandmother, Marie DiMuro.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be on Friday at 10 a.m. at Transfiguration Church with burial to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Mt. Pleasant Blythedale Foundation in memory of Brian James Balthazard, 95 Bradhurst Ave., Valhalla, NY 10595.
