Antonia Singer, 93, Of Sleepy Hollow, Worked For P.R. Mallory

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. - Antonia Singer, a longtime resident of Sleepy Hollow, died Oct. 12. She was 93.

Singer was born March 3, 1920, in Kuchyna, Czechoslovakia, daughter of Anton and Alzbeta Kuhtreber Neuwirth. She came to the United States as a young woman. During the war, she worked at Eastern Aircraft and later for many years for P.R. Mallory in North Tarrytown. She had been a parishioner of Holy Cross Church where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Sleepy Hollow Seniors, the Neighborhood House and the National Sokols Ladies Lodge #42.

Singer is survived by her sons, Paul of Sleepy Hollow and Richard of Irvington; a granddaughter; two great grandsons; sister, Jozulka Pestuka in Slovakia; brother-in-law, Stephen Karac; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul; and five sisters.

Calling hours are Monday, Oct. 14 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home . A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 at St. Teresa of Avila Church with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
